I don't think New York City has been surreal enough lately. Any chance I can get a couple of y'all who live in my general vicinity to help me out with putting together one musical number's worth of surreality sometime in the next two months or so? I've always wanted to do something spontaneously musical in public after hearing about cadhla's experiments in that direction, but the musical number I have in mind is going to require a bit of rehearsal.

EDIT: I am not writing this musical number. Someone else has already done that, and even recorded the song. I have the words and the recording, but no sheet music.

Oh, this one isn't one I wrote myself. I have a recording and the lyrics, but no sheet music- I think people will be able to manage with that, though. I mean, c'mon, we're talking subway performance here.

I'm gonna need a couple of zombies, actually. The only thing the zombies need to sing is "die". They might have to shuffle a little in unison, but since this is a subway production we're talking about, it might be simpler to have the zombies dance while seated (assuming we can get seats for all of them). I'm thinking the zombies should be reading the newspaper to hide their faces until it's their cue. If I can get the singers for the other parts, think you could handle a zombie position?

I've been working on my masterpiece, "Eye of the Tater", for a while now. It's about the loss and abandonment of a potato past its peak. Is that something you'd like for your musical?

How many people do you need, and how well do we need to be able to sing? I mean, I do sing, but I'm not like, trained. Just have done some theatre/chorus stuff/etc.

I need three main singers, one person who can do a zombie kind of voice while singing, and a backup chorus of zombies, although that can be as few as four people, really. For preference the three main singers should be two guys and a girl, but the 'papa' part can probably be sung as a 'mama' with minimal alteration.

I doubt my ability to sing in zombie-voice, lol. But, I am a soprano, and am about a zillion times better at learning from recordings than sheet music anyway. Though I'm not terribly sure my voice carries well enough for subway performance, as I've always had the benefit of a microphone in the past.

Could perhaps be a zombie, or I could tryyyy the girl's role if you don't find anyone else.
