Got to work this morning, looked at the telly at the end of the desk, saw "PLOT THWARTED, 21 ARRESTED". Had no clue what that was about.

I found out.

I'll be reading BBC News Online later on for more details, but this morning I'd just like it officially known that I hate my species and will be applying for a transfer to the Rihannsu just as soon as I can get in contact with their embassy.

I don't know -- they're kind of tricky to deal with. You'll never know if they think they're required to kill you or support you until they do.

Personally, I want to resign from the human race -- I think being an kelpie might be nice. Lots of swimming, and the worse that happens is you dunk people for a lark.

I'd only resign from the human race if I couldn't get a transfer to some more congenial ficton. (Right now the Trinity Universe is looking pretty good, even with the knowledge that Slidergate is less than two years away.) Partly because I'm not sure what species I'd rather be.

I'd want to transfer to Fables, but it's not looking all that good right now. Maybe Girl Genius, that's a fairly good universe to be in if you can get work in one of the cities and remember to run AWAY from the bloodcurdling screams. . .

Kushtakas (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kushtaka/), now, they have it going on. Can change (depending on legend) into any shape, find lost people, put you to sleep by looking at you funny, and a whole entire bag of fun tricks, including "convert the unwary"--but still have that human-shaped option when bored. 8-)

According to an author of my acquaintance, there are only seven original plots, so you have to expect some repetition.
