Believe it or not, but this gives me hope. It just goes to show we don't take things too seriously. Besides, I want to see gold plated gills man. Got to have the gold plated gills!
I dunno if the crabs feel the same way... Hermit crabs will eat ANYTHING, including paint and glitter off of thier own shells. It can make them sick. :(
It's for decorating the shells for the crabs to wear. Mostly with gold-sparkly glue and bits of fake jewels, but there's some fuzzy stuff involved as well.
Call me a speciest, because I am, but what else is there to do with a hermit crab than decorate to match its room setting? THe question I have is do you decorate the current shell or is it the next one? To my mind, decorating the next shell seems much less stressful for all concerned, especially the crab.
