Well, I'm feeling a bit better; still with the dripping and coughing, but not nearly so badly. And I can talk, too, though that works better if I make sure to use a slightly lower part of my throat than usual.

NyQuil did not nab me immediately last night, which makes me sad, because I went to bed with terrible back pain from a day's worth of coughing and had rather hoped it would go away immediately. I think I wound up conking out after around 15 minutes to an hour. It did, however, keep me asleep; I woke up today with one of the cats on my chest, and took a good ten minutes to work up the initiative to roll over and pick up my cell phone so I could see what time it was.

12:15.

So- one more day of recovery from this. I'll call my parents and apologise about missing family St. Patrick's Day later, but Mom is cool with me staying home to recover, so that won't be a problem.

On tap for today: laundry. And maybe more sleep.

If the cough insists on hanging on when the rest is better, those little pack of cough-suppressant dissolving films they're selling now are A1. I was forced to try them in desperation last spring and was sold at once. They taste terrible, but it beats the sore ribs and back and raw throat from the Useless Cough That Will Not Stop.l
