Feb. 5th, 2006 11:52 amArghgh.
Migraine headache and slept wrong on my left eye last night; it's taken most of an hour for the vision to go back to normal. The migraine started last night around ten and hasn't really gone away despite acetaminophen use. (Excedrin Migraine is acetaminophen, aspirin, and caffeine; I haven't got items 2 and 3 so I just went for item 1.) On the bright side, I do not especially ache from yesterday's karate, which is a step up from aching two days after the first karate workout in years.
Last night's headache came hot on the heels of watching movies with
batyatoon and
sdelmonte. We decided to settle down and watch our newest
milliways_bar characters' canons together. After flipping a coin to see whether Sergeant Wells or Alexander Knox went first (I called tails), we watched Dog Soldiers. Lovely, lovely werewolf movie. And, yeah, Sean Pertwee resembles his father more and more every year, both in face and in voice.
Batman, the original movie, came next. I have got to rent the DVD and screen cap it for
sdelmonte to use. It's been forever since I watched even part of the first movie, though, so my brain was a bit unprepared for some of the old stuff. memo to self: criticizing Joker for being cliched and ludicrously over the top and stereotypical is like criticizing Shakespeare for using weird phrasing. Where did you think the stereotypes came from?
Anyway, I left before the movie finished, 'cos I had to have the car back by midnight. It was a Prius, btw, and they are fascinating cars to drive if you do not mind the fact that every so often THE ENGINE NOISES JUST GO AWAY. (That's the electric kicking in.) I got into the car and turned on the radio...
... now, it's been a while since my third-string superpower of turning on the radio after a movie and having the first song be appropriate to what I watched kicked in. But last night it kicked in, HARD. First song? "Once Bitten, Twice Shy". I fumbled for my cell phone to call
batyatoon and tell her. ANd as I did so, the second song came on.
"I'm Not Crazy, I'm Just A Little Unwell".
... ya-heh.
