Cat threw up last night (Shula, the big orange and white fellow). To his credit, he in fact did make an attempt to get to the bathroom, and at one point sat on the bathroom tiles while horking furiously. I suspect he wanted the nice reassuring cool tiles under him or something, more than any cleaning or smell issues.

My gut's not feelin' all that hot at the moment either.

Pfeh.

Cats throw up at the drop of a hat or when their hairballs get sufficiently irritating. Hopefully, Shula didn't woof on the bed.

Our cat seems to make an actual effort to throw up somewhere non-valuable or out of the usual line of foot traffic. He had a hairball the other week, jumped off the bed and walked over to a piece of paper near the waste bin and was sick on that.

Melody has hairballed on my bed once, but she usually picks a decent place. Last night she woke me up horfing on the orange plastic tarp I used to use to keep them off my bed while conning.

...I have since discovered that just closing the door and keeping them out of the room is more effective. They tunnel under the plastic.

Our Charles is indiscriminate with his hairballing. Dmitri hurls wherever.

Charles is also, I think, annoyed with My Lovely Wife for being out at school so much, and has resorted to The Ultimate Sanction. I do not think he ever poops in the litterbox now. He prefers a spot in the middle of the hall exactly a foot and a half from the litterbox.

I take that back. The Ultimate Sanction would be doing the same thing, but on a pillow.

Cats Are So Gross.

Hope you feel better soon.

Our working hypothesis on hairballs is that (most) cats want something they can dig in to, to hold themselves still while forcing the hairball out -- carpet. On the other hand, they usually know much we dislike its effects on the carpet. Sadly, we lack the means for testing: we currently have no cats and no carpet.

Okay, I was actually considering getting a cat.

That thought's gone.

OH NO! You've caught the dreaded feline flu!

In other news, hated that when I had a cat. Sympathy.
