What bothers me a bit is that one of the doodads that was supposed to be a gauge with a needle on it looks suspiciously like the Eye of Sauron now that I'm looking at it.
Well, if you mention Watterson it does sort of look like Calvin's Dad fiddling with (a) new technology, as implied from the actual drawing of (b) his bike, if we assume you simply channel the spirit of the strip.
The first scribble was done with a copy of Somethign Under The Bed Is Drooling open on my lap- I was adapting the image of Calvin talking to Hobbes about the science fiction story he read where machines turned humans into zombie slaves. This one I did entirely on my own trying to draw on the spirit of the strip, yeah.
