No kidding. The last hurricane on the list for this year is Wilma, which is not so bad except that it's the name of a friend's mother.

At least if they get through the list and need more names they start naming them Alpha, Beta, etc.

It's also the name of Fred Flinstone's wife, who is a rather formidable woman.

But I'm with deepfishy. They need to give hurricanes names that don't make people ashamed of their names.

I know a couple people named Katrina who are going through way much drama as a result of sharing it with the hurricane.

Personally, I think Betty was more formidable- more spine than Wilma, and karate lessons- but that's just me.

I could've sworn Betty and Wilma took the Karate lessons together and were both all "Aaahhh! Haki-saki-HAH!".

But Wilma has her moments where she's pretty badass. I can remember her going upside people's heads or carrying giant brontosaurus platters over her head. And for that matter carrying big ol' Fred one handed.

Did they? It's possible. I don't remember the episode, just Barney saying that in a fight he'd want to be behind Betty, because with Betty's karate expertise it was the safest place to be. I always just thought Betty was more of her own woman, because I don't remember her being as needy about her man's permission to go out or do stuff- and because Barney was only too happy to let her take charge on multiple occasions, but that may have been a case of Barney having more sense than Fred even if he wasn't the sharpest pebble in the landslide otherwise.

Rightfully so. Early on in the series, Fred was a burrosombrero. He got better after Wilma got pregnant and had Pebbles.
