It just occurred to me that, of the two cyborgs now presented to us by George Lucas, both have capes and respiratory problems (Grievous seriously has the same hacking cough I do on a bad pollen day), but only Vader has pants. Maul had pants, Dooku had pants, Vader had pants, but Palpatine -- their nominal master -- went pantsless much of the time, in fact wearing pants less often as his political power increased. What's up with that?
