Aug. 9th, 2005 03:12 pmHm.
19.5 miles from my apartment to my parents' house, if I take the shortest possible route (which is usually the easiest way to get things like Expedia to give me directions that do not involve major highways). There's a couple of miles on truck-route Highway 1, but there might be sidewalks involved there, and I'll never find out whether the dream of riding US 1 from one end to the other is possible without at least sniffing around... hm.
Wonder if I could pull that off this weekend.
I gotta get me a new helmet.

Date: 2005-08-09 10:44 pm (UTC)For example, in the Boston area, US 1 is the same road as I-95 (and Rte. 128) for a spell, and it's illegal, and a bad idea, to try to ride a bike on the Interstate. You could of course drive the length of it, from Maine to Florida, but it's slower than the same basic trip would be on 95, so you'd want to take a week off, I'd think.
