And mostly it's appearance but nearly every single one includes somewhat weird personality changes, yes?
What if she is, in fact, a Gallifreyan- and got killed over the summer?
Which could lead to either the lovely spectacle of the Daleks swarming in and blowing Hogwarts out of existence to wipe away the Sues and warped versions of canon characters...
Or to a nice protracted saga wherein we find out that the Time-Turner is an artifact of Rassilon and Tom Riddle = the Master.
Honestly, some days I wonder what it's like inside heads where this kind of thing doesn't happen.

Date: 2005-08-07 03:45 am (UTC)I think I had more than seven books when I was six. And I'm not talking just Dr. Seuss, either, one of them was Cosmos...

I myself tend to feel a certain amount of pity when I try to think about what life must be like for those people who have trouble sitting down to a conversation about world domination or the like.

Date: 2005-08-07 02:48 am (UTC)I do like this idea, if only because the Doctor can't have been the only renegade Time Lord. In fact, if my memory of Who cannon is right, there are three: The Doctor, The Master, and The Rani.
The dude from The Five Doctors doesn't count since he got his butt whupped by Rassilon the same episode.
That said, it would be more appropiate if perhaps Hermione's mother or father was another survivor of the Time War. A low-level peon at the edges who fell through a time hole and made the best of his or her situation.

Date: 2005-08-07 03:17 am (UTC)Yes, from Calvin and.
Think about it.
The cardboard box is -obviously- Hobbes' Tardis.
And Hobbes had that mix of mad genious and child-like wonder and crazy snark that makes the Doctor so wonderful.
My theory is that Calvin is going to grow up to lead Earth into a new Utopia and Hobbes is there to make sure he survives.
