After a ninety-minute-long service yesterday (we had a guest pastor with a longer sermon than usual), the post-Communion, pre-dismissal announcements ended with this:

"As you may or may not know, this is Gay Pride weekend in New York City. Since I think a lot of us here at St. Matthew's have at least a little gay in our hearts, let's pray for everyone at the parade and other events in New York, asking that the heat doesn't adversely affect anyone's health. Thank you."

Gotta love it.

I'd still rather be living somewhere cold, but still- gotta love it.
