Okay, no, more likely it's just the SCSI backplate being dead, but the people at HP tech support said to send them the diagnostic file and wait ten minutes and phone them and THEN they should be able to tell me the cause of the hard drive failure that sent Kirk tumbling. Probably going to be a parts-replacement issue.

In the meantime, I'm betting on space gonorrhea.

ETA: Kirk needs the backplate replaced, and possibly two hard drives. This will happen Monday. I"m going home.
