We got a new server this week. The HP people installed it today. Its job is to handle the major application my fellow techie has coded, since Spock is being an ASS about installing stuff (he won't let anything else be installed on him- you moron, just because you have another machine to stash your katra on doesn't mean you can wall off your brain from any new applications being added!). Spock is our main file server and domain controller and will be taken off application server duty now. Kirk is our Exchange server, handling email and antivirus protection; he's also our WINS server. Our VPN server is Scotty- that's all he does, except for running the accounting software- and the new machine, which will do applications and hard-core financial computations, is Uhura.

Just sayin'.

You know, with all the alien chicks he banged, Kirk may not be the most appropriate role model for a server that's supposed to handle virus protection.

That's the point, d'you see. Kirk banged alien chicks from here clear to the Sagittarius Arm, but did he ever once come down with space gonorrhea? Nope.

You don't know that. He could have been hiding the 'verse's worst case of VD in those polyester trousers. They just didn't think it was an appropriate subject for a telly show.

Well, I also was going to make a snarky comment about the fact tha Uhura should logically be the VPN server when I realized that Scotty has to handle the throughput and if you use too much bandwidth, then if you give it any more it'l blow!!
