I want you tell me how I'm doing with my characters. What am I doing right? What am I screwing up? What do I need to stop doing? What do you want me to start doing? Anything at all.

This is meant to cover my RPG characters. My written characters are currently in a state where the most appropriate answer is 'screwing up? you're not writing us enough, that's what you're bloody screwing up', although anyone who wants to twig or praise on characterisation there is certainly free to do so. As I've got off my arse and started cleaning my apartment properly, the initiative to write fic properly again is not far behind.

Anyway, this is meant to cover my RPG characters, so if you RP with me, then ping me about it in a comment here.

PS - in case you happen not to remember who I play, I'm playing Ray Stantz at Milliways, also Detritus and Carcer from Discworld.

I don't play him much, and I'm hoping to wrap up the plot that has him in it. He's not like John- he's not instinctive. I have to stop and actively think what the most horrid thing to do in any given situation would be if I'm going to play him.

Murdoc's abusive father's like that. It's bloody hard to play him, and I always find myself coming out of sessions with the mother and father of a lot of little headaches.

What're you doing right? Everything! I'd say you have it as close to perfect as possible. When I first saw your Ray I said you ruled, and I could hear Ackroyd's voice coming out of him. That's still accurate. But then you added a teeny tiny bit of the childlike innocence from RGB!Ray and 88MPH!Ray and you made a conglomeration of him that just works!

The only thing I think you could do differently is that Ray tends to shout "beautiful!" when he's really pleased about something.

You're very kind... I'm usually my own harshest critic and rarely think my characters are that good. Do miss trying though :-)

Y'know, considering that I don't normally blush unless I'm playing Sergeant Preston and the material is something that would make a Victorian gentleman blush, you're doing a pretty good job of setting me off...

Mostly because, as you said, you don't normally blush.

While I can't draw at all, I do tend to watch faces a lot, and run compare-and-contrasts in my head between different expressions on people.
