Well, the Jersey City parking authority won't let me have a permanent sticker until I have my car's registration set to Jersey City, so I'm going to head out to the DMV and get my address changed there. Tried to do it online but New Jersey's so hyper about terrorism and identity theft that I have to show up in person with buttloads of proof that I am who I say I am plus an extra half buttload to show that I live where I say I live. Then I can get my driver's license (which requires more proof of identity and address than a passport, I think), and then they will graciously condescend to give me a parking sticker.

Feh.

I wonder how long I would last on the Jersey City streets with a Vespa. Probably not long enough to make the relative ease of parking worthwhile. The streets are potholey and, well, Jersey drivers.

Ah- nope. See, weather like that happens and I've got a Vespa as my transport? That's an excuse for staying home. Last week's trip was to knitting group. That's an optional thing. I can reach all my obligatory destinations on foot, or by a combination of train and foot. Optionals are another story.

Still, like I said, potholey roads and Jersey drivers. I would rather not die.
