Hm, the lj user tag doesn't seem to work in transcription. Took me for-friggin-EVAH to figure out what that word was. I finally said to myself "if it doesn't seem to make sense as a word, maybe it's a name!" and went and looked at your friend's list. I hope I guessed right?
Anyway, glad you like the new comic. :) I have heard some people are annoyed because it doesn't take place in the 80's but in that vague 'now' time - cellphones and such are in use.
You got it right, yeah, and I don't really care about the 80s thing. They got the guys right and they made a lovely snarky dig or two at the cartoon while still maintaining the spirit. I'm happy.
I really have to find it... I'm pretty sure that was what lekythen 'auditioned' to draw, and I loved the page she sent in (if I can find any place it's posted I'll link to it), I was really disappointed that they didn't choose her. I was also not happy when I heard they'd made Ray a football player type. I still maintain that Ray is not The Big Guy, he's The Other Guy (Winston is The Big Guy). However, my main reasons for not buying it are actually that A) I'm too lazy to go find it, B) I'm cheap, and C) I've got so much damned crap shoved into this apartment that I can hardly move as it is. ;) But, if C changed and I happened to find it I'd probably buy it.
I dunno about the football player type thing; I mean, yeah, he looks a little blocky and bulky in the comic, but so do most of the other male characters. It's not like they show him doing anything athletic, anyway. I rather wish Winston got more screen time, but now that it turns out there's going to be an ongoing series, one can hope...
I bought the poster. Graham Cracker Comics had it offered. I couldn't resist.
