just finished watching "Chinatown" episode of Due South.

Fraser at one point gives the source of a saying as "Robert Fraser, my father".

I swear on my eyeballs I did not know that when I named Sgt. Preston's father "Robert". I was reffing the movie "Equilibrium"- Preston's great-grandfather was named John and his great-grandmother Vivviana, and his father's name was Robert.

But still. Augh.

And Chinatown...heh. Reminds me of when I had to watch it for a "Film and Writing" class I took.

Sorry, I'm a little slow this morning: what has Yeats got to do with Chinatown or Due South or Sgt. Preston? Can you enlighten me a bit, I'm really curious...(always willing to be educated)

It doesn't. It has to do with Equilibrium. The main character, John Preston, is a Grammaton Cleric- that is, an enforcer of dystopian law in a society that just barely survived a third world war. They felt the only way to survive a fourth was to prevent said war from ever happening, and they felt the only way to prevent the fourth war from happening was to destroy man's capacity to feel.

John Preston's partner was a man named Errol Partridge, who was secretly indulging in a number of things that he realy shouldn't have under the law. One of them was Yeats- that specific poem.

More than that would be spoilers.

Sweetheart (she said gently), I don't even live in Region 1 for DVDs. I live at the 63rd parallel NORTH (45.5 E). I don't think netflix would have me as a customer. But I'll see if I can buy a copy via amazon.co.uk. Thanks for letting me in on what to order!
And if Dystopian Law is what I think it is, a good anarchist pagan like me would probably be more likely to avoid being caught by someone trying to enforce it, than wanting to have it as my job description on my card.
