Update to Grah

camwynJoe the Verizon Tech just called from my building's basement. He says that the dial tone is okay in the basement and that tomorrow's tech will have to 'buzz it up' to my apartment. He also says the swingy-thing jack is just a jack with an old-school child or bugproofing shield on it so far as he can tell from my description.
Joe offered to hang about for a little bit if I could get home early, but I've still got an hour's work to do, which is more time than Joe could spare. Someone should be coming tomorrow. If there is no one by 11 AM I will break out the flammenwurfers.
