Frigging pcAnywhere.
Oct. 29th, 2004 01:09 pmAfter the netstorm the other day I thought we had everything in order. Turns out ha, ha, no. I've had at least two people try to get to their desktops via pcAnywhere and not be able to do it. This despite the firewall having their IP addresses neatly mapped and marked 'allow' on the ports pcAnywhere wants by default. When I start pcAnywhere on this desktop I only see two remotes in this office as ready for connection- mind you I have personally started the hosting service on at least one desktop that is not showing up.
There is a router behind our firewall. I am not sure if it is cooperating with us or not.
