And better luck to your guys next year. I only "hate" the Yankees because....well, they're the Yankees, and I'm a Red Sox fan. It's not really personal, and there are even Yankees fans I really like. :) (Though I admit, your constant humilation of my NL Braves in the 90s didn't help to warm me to them *grin*).

Perfectly reasonable, if you ask me. The same applies in a reciprocal fashion.

Fair enough. A Cleveland-born friend of mine once told me that 'rooting for the Yankees is like rooting for Goliath', so I do understand how you feel.
It's same, maybe more so, for Mets fans vis-a-vis their co-workers and friends and family, though I suspect that we arn't exactly loved in New England either after '86.
I can just about stop weeping with joy long enough to thank you for being so gracious about this. I have been supporting the Sox since I was four. This makes it ten thousand times worthwhile...
I took a lot of flack from Mets fans as a kid, and in high school I got razzed for being a Yankee fan because the Bombers were, well, bombing. It's only fair that you guys get congratulated for your team finally grabbing the brass ring.

Oh, and I was sooo hoping that the BBC would stand a reporter somewhere in Boston and report on it like it was a war zone.
