Sep. 30th, 2004 01:37 pmI went to Borders at lunch today for a bit. In the process of wandering through the store I saw their comic book rack. Nothing outstanding, I thought, so I left the bookstore and headed into the mall.
The entire food court- at least, the one I was familiar with- was boarded up save for one restaurant that remained open. Bleah, I thought, and headed further into the mall. I knew of a restaurant further in that served Greek food; that was where I sat down and read my first Hellblazer TPB (the Freezes Over one). Perhaps there would be a greasy burger joint in that part of the mall.
Just before I get to that part of the mall, I turned my head a little to the left, and I saw it: New Moon Comics.
Who had issue #200 of Hellblazer in stock. The one that scared the bejabers out of me by presenting me with three very simple words: "Happy birthday, Daddy."
I can assure you that I will have Hellblazer: Hogwarts material written within a week and probably presented to the betas. If nothing else, I'm going into Manhattan on Monday, and I intend to do so by train. I can write on the train, even if I can't anywhere else...
(Side note: the first few pages of issue #200 make me very, very nervous about my current Sims 2 game. That's all I'm sayin'.)

*See, in Sims 2, if you spend too long at a telescope during evening hours, you stand a chance of being kidnapped by aliens. And if you're a guy, you stand a really good chance of being returned preggers with an alien baby. I'd say that comes awfully close to the sort of creepitude this issue engendered, spawn-wise.

Date: 2004-09-30 01:31 pm (UTC)... of course as soon as I'm done crafting Pete, then I have to do up Kitty, and then a Zatanna (although I don't think fishnet stockings are available as an option- oh well, top hat and one-piece bathing suit as daily attire ought to do).
