Guess who's going to Florida?

I'm in for a very long ride tomorrow. One of my co-workers and I are going to be driving the chapter's ERV down to Florida (or possibly the Carolinas- depends on how Frances behaves) leaving 'first thing' tomorrow morning. Dunno what our destination city is yet, or what time we're expected to leave or exactly what day we're coming back. But we're going.

Umm...you ARE aware that it's NOT a good time to be going to Florida, right? There's a hurricane coming.

When I say 'chapter', I mean a Red Cross chapter. I'm an American Red Cross disaster volunteer as well as an employee. ERV stands for 'emergency response vehicle'- we're a mobile supply truck and feeding station. We wouldn't be coming at all if it weren't for the hurricane.

Side note: our current destination is supposed to be Atlanta, GA. That may change tomorrow.

Take care, girl. Considering all the stressing folks in your line have been dealing with since the new "Maybe AlQuaeda will blow up stuff in your neighborhood, maybe so, maybe, we aren't sure, so like, live on your stomach linings and hang by your thumbs!" warnings, a plain, ordinary, wrath-of-God incident like a hurricane should be a relief. There's a plan for that, you have an idea where it is, and you know your actions will make a difference. And doesn't it suck when going out to clean up after a hurricane is an improvement?
