Kind of like the friend who asked me if I had doctored the results to come out with the number of comments I did? (The answer was no, it was just a cool coincidence that my comments are officially 1337.)
Ooh, I'm number 12. At first I didnt' see my name and thought, "Well! I shall have to remedy that! I'll stay up all night posting stupid comments to all her journal posts for the last two years!"
Most of the time I'm known as "The weird girl in the corner with the thick book." or "Who the hell is that kid that's answering all of thouse questions right?" More than once I have had people say to me "You read WWWWAAAAAYYYY too much!"
I also have many, many theorys on how dragons might exist. *Cue username*
Let's face it though - the 21st century belongs to the geeks. When I was in HS only the total nerd types knew anything about computers, and now they're used even by cheerleaders. And with the Internet comes a plethora of places wherein one can find others of the same ilk, where one's triva knowledge will come in handy, where being smart is better than being athletic, where at any given time you can find someone to whom you can say, "You too? I thought I was the only one!" So yay bookish people! Yay geeks! Yay everyone who writes in a Live Journal instead of doing work, which is what I should be doing right now!
YAAAAAYYYY!! I was at Slyvan Learning Center (It was for math) and now the people at my table were doing trivia, and I kept answering the questions right. By the time it was done, the kids were staring at me and I had ten 'dollars'. "What is the hardest type of rock?" "*pause* Diamond?" *girl next to me is gently hitting her head on table* "Thats... Right... How much do you read, exactly?"
So I'm not the only person who has dragon theorys! *Is also proud that Camwyn thinks that her dragon theorys are awesome.*
C.S Lewis? The Four Loves? The chapter on friendship Not intentionally. Although I had a professor in college who had a poster that read "You too, I thought I was the only one" and that's probably why.
Yes! Oh, do read it! Whilst I was reading it I had the delightful sensation of having things I had always inarticulately thought beautifully expressed by someone else. I love it when this happens. I get that heady feeling that makes me want to buttonhole the nearest passerby and force the book upon him, if only because I'm too happy and excited to be self-contained.
Anyway, tisn't a long book by any means, and it's well argued, well laid out, well written, and delightfully amusing.

Date: 2004-06-14 10:30 pm (UTC)Ever seen the movie "Twister"? You know Helen Hunt's team of stormchasers who were all grubby and weird and quoting Repo Man at each other?
That was what the majority of engineering majors at my school were like- and they were the majority of the population.
As for the dragons... theories about ANYTHING gigantic and scaly are cool in my book.
