Going home soon.
May. 18th, 2004 11:41 amIt's currently 11:41 and I'm online at Broward County Library, checking email and such before we leave. The plane leaves at 3:15. Grandma wants to buy souvenirs for some folks back home. We'll have to get them at the airport as she refuses to go to Sawgrass Mall for them, Lord alone knows why... *sigh* I love her, I really do, but between the three-minute-forget gap ("Have we got money?" "No, Grandma, you left it at home in your purse. I'll buy, and you can pay me back when we get home." "Oh." *180 seconds pass* "Have we got money?") and the weirdly compliant way she says 'okay' when I inform her of something we're going to do- inform her in a way that practically screams 'make a comment or a suggestion', mind you- is getting on my nerves. I'm prayin' like anything that this is just depression and staying around the house back in New York too long that's messing with her head, but I swear, it pings like the early stages of Alzheimer's...
bleah.
Anyway. We'll be going back to New York/New Jersey soon. We take Song Airlines from FLL to JFK, leaving at 3:15. Scheduled to touch down around 6 but I'm told weather up there's grotty so there may be delays. I intend to get in my own car and drive to NJ as quickly as possible once I get to Aunt Kathy's, but I dunno when I'll be home, exactly. Those of y'all whose phone numbers are in my cell phone can probably expect calls from me and my hands-free headpiece; the hardest part of this trip has been the extremely limited opportunities for communication, really. I'll be gladdest of being back home because it means I get to talk to people again.
And because I'll be able to get my pictures of GIANT REPTILES OLDER THAN THE ORDER 'PRIMATES' posted.
