Going to Festival today.

Stopped off to check my email this morning, am at library now. Grandma busy reading Victoria Holt novel, which is good, since she hasn't been reading most of this week.
Riptides continue. no new deaths, but 9 people had to be fished out by lifeguards yesterday, one of whom required medical attention. Much as I love the ocean I do not think it is very wise to fool with it when it is in this kind of mood. It's like petting a dog while it's eating. It might not have pack issues re: food, but why take a chance?
Festival today is all dive sports and ocean stuff. There will be seafood, which should make my grandmother happy.
Plan on going to either the Keys or a gator farm tomorrow, after Grandma and I go to church. Would prefer the Keys but it depends on how far we can drive.
Re-watched Without A Clue last night. 1988 movie. Ben Kingsley as Watson, Michael Caine as Reginald Kincaid playing "Sherlock Holmes" for the public and Scotland Yard. Kingsley = brains, Caine = ijjit. V. funny, at least in my estimation, and well worth the $2.95 I paid for the videotape. This one's coming home with me.
Have got more background on the Silver Corporal all lined up but have not yet figured out how to get him his scary-ass rope....
EEEE! Found it. http://www.livejournal.com/users/camwyn/298149.html - the journal entry in which I first reported on the chap. Huzzah! Too bad I haven't got the book here to work from, but since I'm trying to construct his BG so that I can write him an origin story, I can live with that. I know the salient points and working backward is about that, much more than about the details.
At any rate, I should get going. We need to buy tickets to get into the Festival and I'm probably going to have to get on line for the diving tank. (Am from New York. We do not stand in line. We stand on line. We were on line long before there was even an ARPAnet, let alone dial-up Internet service, thank you very much.)
Talk to you later.
