"punt," now there's an underused word, save in discussions of American Football. Punt. Puntpuntpuntpunt! Heh...
Anyway, despite not liking Potterdom (basically, everytime someone says "muggle" this pasty white boy reads nigger/kike/wop/gook/etc. and gets offended) and having never heard of Hellblazer (had it confused with Hellraiser when it was first mentioned, in fact) I really like this story, and as a Ghostbusters fan _Who Ya Gonna Owl_ appeals as well. Now if there was only a Transformers (Generation One-And-Only-True) crossover, I'd be all set :?)
Alas, Transformers lies beyond the scope of any of my fandoms. Although you might try prodding mephron, as he's a Transformers fan. Don't know how he is about writing fanfic, though.
quoting: "Alas, Transformers lies beyond the scope of any of my fandoms."
Aww, can't you see it? Johyn decides to go buy some smokes, and all of a sudden there's some bloody great robots having a firefight right in the streets of London, plain as you please. Not being a fool, he jumps behind a yellow Volkswagon to get out of harm's way, and it talks to him - not a driver, just an empty car, talks to him to tell him to hop in and the car will get him outof there.
Some time later, it turns out that the Decepticons have found out about this magic stuff and while they don't believe the human mythological mumbo-jumbo, they decided it was worth lo0oking into as a source of energon and get some halfassed nutter to summon something in a ward circle designed to syphon off its power. Breaking up the this operation should have been the end of it, but no, some of the Transformers (maybe even Autobots as well as Decepticons, if they captured some demonic energon cubes) get possesed and go on a rampage, and have to be stopped and purified.
Or something. I dunno, like I said, I'm not all that up on Hellblazer. Cynical englishmen somewhat, but not the specifics of this one in particular.

Note to Livejournal and their damnfool broken-letters thingy: Yes, I'm a human. Unfortunately.
Fabulous! This would be a good moment to tell you how much I'm enjoying it, then, right? When it was mentioned to me as "JC as the new DADA teacher" I gave the reccer a profoundly dubious look, for which I'm now going to have to apologize. You're handling it just right for it to work, right down to getting the magic systems to match up. In fact, my only complaint would be that I want more, damnit!
::gets out the semiautomatic and shoots the trying-to-form plotbunny::
I used JC in this case because it's what the person who recced the series to me uses all the time, and... now I'm going to have to make her stop. Because it's giving me all sorts of weird images.
Well, you have seen the post on metaquotes where someone pointed out the problem with certain movie abbreviations, right? PotC for Pirates of the Caribbean and tPotC for The Passion of the Christ leads inevitably to "but WHY is the LORD gone??". This is just more of the same.
Heh. I very much appreciate this, considering that I only started reading Hellblazer back in January. My initial knowledge of ol' John came from fan sites until I could get my hands on a TPB or two. Still got to buy a copy of Dangerous Habits; I've read the critical bits but it is sort of seminal, considering. (In the way that it might be a good idea to get some gasoline if you're planning on driving from New York City to Akron, Ohio.)
It will be fun once he's actually into the classroom, though...

You should mention that fact when you submit your novel to her. When you finish your novel.
