Anyone know if the Fat Friar's got a name? I can't find one on the Lexicon, so I'm assuming I'm free to give him something appropriate, but I wanted to be sure- JKR might've given an interview I've missed. (I've got him talking to John Constantine just now.)

Nope. Just the Fat Friar, just the way the Grey Lady is the Grey Lady and the Bloody Baron is the Bloody Baron. The only reason we know Nearly-Headless Nick's real name is that he cannot stand being called Nearly-Headless Nick.

All right. Trying to decide if he'd introduce himself by name and follow it with 'but everyone calls me the Fat Friar', or if he'd just go straight to 'Fat Friar'. John's a little too conversant with magical naming conventions to be so rude as to ask for the ghost's name.

I don`t think he`s got a name other than "Fat Friar". He has never been mentioned in any other way.

It fits as well as anything.

True. I've got a list of names I cull from the databse I work on that sound like something you'd see in the Potterverse; I'd found a couple of candidates, but Timothy works just as well. Still, I think I'll go with 'What do I call you?' 'Fat Friar' as was suggested above.
