Working on a blanket for a contest at the local Rag Shop. Must be of a certain size, of my own design, and made from one of three specified Caron yarns. Must be done by May 18th.

Found a very very funky Celtic knotwork pattern done as cabled knitting on the web. Am going to use this in multiple panels framed by trinity stitch borders.

This is what I've got of the first panel so far. I estimate probably five of these are going to be done, only I'll have to repeat the centre section of the cable quite a few times to get the length right.

nice piece. great color. I LOVE the celtic knotwork especially. You realize if you keep putting pretty things like this on the web, you will never run out of people begging for sweaters and scarves. Actually, I am still lusting for one of those necklaces, but since you are already making me a sweater, I guess I'll just shut up now. Eep. You rawk.

PS - Can't wait to see pictures of those birds. Can you post the name of them so I can look them up?

*ponders* It's gorgeous, and whoo-boy complicated. I'm impressed with your skill. But it's definately an art blanket. Something with that many holes to catch the toes in would drive me worse than crazy!

*nods* I know the stitches used. That's what a meant. I tried to use a blanket in that pattern, and my big toe would ALWAYS end up sticking out. *gloomily* I have talented toes.

this is exactly why i have always wanted to actually learn to knit PROPERLY, besides the basics.

But my life is way too complicated for knitting now. However, if something like this was in a SWEATER; in, say, purple, I might have to marry you...
