New Diary of a Mountie entry up.

I'm not going to take so damn long between posts again. I had almost forgotten how much I like getting into Sergeant Preston's head; he's an amazing antidote to guys like John and Wayne. (Carrying all three of them in my skull at once makes Orwellian doublethink look like chewing gum. Not chewing gum and walking. Just sitting still and chewing gum.) There'll be more Hellblazer: Hogwarts shortly, I've started on the next bit, but I had to get back to the Mountie for a while.

Also, new icon. I'm scanning in lots of stuff from my Alaska trip last September; this icon was taken from a photo of Iditarod winner Susan Butcher's Fairbanks-area training facility for her dogs.

I missed the word "and" when I read this post the first time, so I was badly frightened by what I thought read: "... guys like John Wayne."

I'll be over here clamping my hand over my right eye so as to stop the facial tic from starting again, thanks. No, out of all the characters living in my head, the closest I get to anything like John Wayne is Scary Ninja Mountie, aka the Silver Corporal- and the only reason he even comes close to qualifying is a past career as a Wyoming cowhand.
