though I really should've done one (I'm falling behind). Two paintings, however. Crude, clumsy children's work at best - this is what happens when you've just recently started a new art form. Mom and Dad bought me a copy of Chinese Brush Painting: A Beginner's Guide for Christmas, and I finally got around to using it.

I so need an instructor. I don't even think I'm making the ink right.

Just for the record, the original model for the first painting was this print. They had it for sale as an unframed print for $40 when I went to the Smithsonian last September. Or as a postcard for 75 cents.

I bought the postcard.
