All right, I seem

to be on the right track for getting home. I've made my flight arrangements, and I have to fly out of Los Angeles (yech) on Saturday at 12:08 PM (eight minutes after noon). I'll be checking out of my job on Friday around 2:30, and I don't know if they want me to stay at the same hotel tomorrow night or get a hotel in LA instead.

When two became one in the womb

Jane was a puzzle to doctors. She needed a kidney transplant, but her naturally conceived sons could not donate - because they were not biologically related.

Tests eventually showed Jane was a chimera - her mother had been pregnant with non-identical twins who had fused together in the womb to make one person. . .


That is just too freaky for words. There has got to be potential for a fantasy story or something in there somewhere.

i think the more disturbing thing was the "see also" headlines on the right. boy pregnant with his twin?? that really is taken straight from a sci-fi story.

my gf and I might have to do IVF to get pregant (to be honest, I'm ready to adopt before that...but she really wants to experience the whole thing.)

Well... actually, Stephen King's The Dark Half went here already: one twin eats the other in the womb, and the eaten twin resurfaces, years later, as the pseudonym of the live one. All's well and good until the live one decides to hole a funeral for his alter ego...

... who does NOT like that.
