No, seriously. I was bangin' my way through the next Diary of a Mountie installment, and I'd just about gotten to the point where the group encounters a fairy, and BAM - Word crashes. Illegal operation error.
I close another program and try opening Word again. BAM - same error, not even allowing the file to open.
I try to get some more work done in Internet Explorer, which is how we access our fundraising data now, and bring down two fingers in EXACTLY the right combination to cause the computer to think I'm trying to type in the pinyin for Chinese characters. Which I am not, but I could not figure out how to turn that option off. Ultimately all my programs develop illegal operation errors, and so I am forced to reboot, at which point I find that the Diary entry I was working on was last saved a little before a two-paragraph-long edit.
*sigh* Lousy fairies. At least I didn't lose more than a paragraph or two - and I already had a page or two done before that.
