Officially no longer interested in baseball for the remainder of 2003.

Sorry, guys. I might've been born and raised a Yankee fan, but without the possibility of the Cubs making it, I don't give a rat's ass whether Boston or New York makes it. The Yankees just kick ass in general, they always do; it's like Gojira versus the little tanks. Even if Boston makes it to the Series I'll only have the mildest of sparks of interest, mostly because I want to see if the Marlins squish 'em properly or what. But other than that? No interest left in baseball at all this year. I think I'll go learn hockey now.

You and me both, sigh. John said, discouragedly, "Well, at least now I don't have to buy a roast to barbecue Saturday." In his family, barbecue season is exactly homologous to the baseball season.

I've been saying this on every board on the Net...

The Marlins mount an amazing comeback, and have fun doing it, and no one seems to notice. I think they are worthy of a baseball fan's time, even if the boring Yankees (drab except when obnoxious) or the uncouth Red Sox (featuring the dim-witted duo of Pedro and Manny) are the opponents.

But then, I am the kind of baseball fan who tries to appreciate good teams and good players, not just my team (who stink, alas) and not just the Big Story.

Go Marlins!

Hockey Good! I recommend the Phoenix Coyotes. They're one of the younger franchises, with one of the highest percentages of rookies/young players...and right now they have the best stats in the NHL, being the only team to have won all three of their games. Burke (goalie) is phenomenal, having so far stopped 111 of 113 shots at goal. Of course, he kinda needs to, because his teammates keep screwing up...but they're learning, and they're entertaining to watch!

I still love my Ducks best, of course, but they haven't started playing yet this year. They've been at three games, but I don't know what the heck they're doing. They sure aren't playing hockey! So far they're 0-3...and one of those losses was to the 'yotes!

Doooooooo it! Join the Hockey Side!!!!

Oh, and if you want a team to watch that actually, like, is in your conference and might occasionally get televised on your stations, go for the Boston Bruins! They just womped the Dallas Stars, 2-0! WHOOOO! Go Bruins!
