What flavor of wee router box? I regularly buy Linksys; they've never given me a moment of trouble.

DSL regularly uses PPPoE, so what I do is hook up my trusty OS X iBook (OS X and XP both have PPPoE clients as part of the OS already, so no need to use nassssty installer program), do the registration song-and-dance -- before putting the router on the network. Then, I hook up the router, explain Life, the Universe, and Everything to it: PPPoE. Always on. This is the username and password. Your 802.11b SSID is... y'know, the usual.

Then configure the other children for DHCP and throw 'em on.

But Linksys, man. All about the Linksys. The same model is sweet for cable modem too; we have that in the latest apartment. No PPPoE, just tell it to clone the MAC (Ethernet) address of the Trusty iBook and Comcast is none the wiser.

My old router is a Lynksys, although I can't seem to get the damn thing to work these days. Could ship to to you, if you want to try it.
