Going to the airport tomorrow. 8:15 AM my plane takes off. Got to be at the airport at 6:15. Here's hopin' they don't a) change my flight time overnight ('didn't we tell you? Not enough people on 8 AM plane! Must get on 6 AM plane instead!') or b) reject my knitting needles at security.

If there is a net terminal in the Seattle airport tomorrow I will do my best to let y'all know I'm okay from there. Otherwise it will have to wait until I get to Fairbanks.

Gonna try and sleep now. Not anticipating success. But gonna try.

It's probably a very bad thing that I was picturing you at the airport in Seattle going "I do not like this place. There is no cold. There is no snow. And I am still on the flying thing. *sigh*"

Freakishly enough, not only was there no cold and no snow, there was no RAIN. The sun was shining and bright, the sky was gloriously blue, the temperature was warm... in SEATTLE. I mean, jeebus, I had just left a soggy wet chilly NJ and was on my way to a soggy wet rainy Alaska - but Seattle? Sunny and shiny and bright. So was Anchorage, for that matter.

However, I plan to take a tour of Mary Shields' place while I am here. Ms. Shields was the first woman to complete the Iditarod. Believe you me, I'll be thinkin' of Prince!

My plane gets me back into NJ on the 16th. I'll be actually useful to humanity on the 17th.
