Mitten mitten mitten!
Aug. 27th, 2003 11:29 pmAfter I finished my second pair of socks I could not quite bring myself to start a third immediately. Since I am going to Alaska on 1 September, I thought perhaps I should do up a pair of mittens. Yes, the highs are around 55 F during the time I plan to be there, but the lows get to freezing, so why not be cautious? I bought a copy of Knit Mittens! 15 Cool Patterns To Keep You Warm, by Robin Hansen, and then a couple of needles and a skein of Lion Brand Wool-Ease in white. It would go well with my variegated Berella acrylic, I figured.

Not bad, eh? I bollixed up the pattern near the fingertip area on one of them. This one I got right. I will use this to distinguish between left and right, as the thumb comes straight out of the side and either may be used on either hand.
next up: Lion Brand boucle weirdness to be made into a Dead Muppet Scarf!
