camwynWent to the local yarn shop last night with an RL friend. They're having a sale on discontinued yarns - 40% off by the skein, 50% off by the bag ('bag' being defined as 'ten units of a particular yarn'). I bought five skeins of double-knit dark grey spotty wool - pure wool - which I plan to use for practicing socks and gloves. I'll be working on a re-footable sock fairly soon, I think; I have a simple pattern for one, a set of the right needles, and an urge to try. I finished the cap sleeves on my pullover sweater last night, too, but I can't put that together just yet. Gotta block first, then sew shoulder seams, then do neck, THEN I can sew it all up.

cadhla's League of Extraordinary Gentlemen RPG. Yours truly will be playing Sergeant Preston of the Yukon. Older than on the series, true, and with a different dog since Yukon King would've died of old age, and even widowed, but still the same Mountie where it counts.
Got karate tonight. More seizan kata work. Thank God I won't be coming straight from anywhere like I was last week, as trying to do anything involving kicks when one is wearing a pair of newly purchased running shorts can be a bit embarrassing. I like my uniform.
Keeping an eye on the fires out west, the floods in Indiana, the storm damage in Texas, etc. Doubt they'll try to send me anywhere but it never hurts to be wary.
