I had the dream again.
Jul. 7th, 2003 10:08 amMy sister got married this weekend; the whole thing came off very well, with the exception of the organist not showing up on time (he thought the wedding was at 3, when it was in fact at 11 AM). I didn't claw anyone's eyes out for comments about me wearing makeup and nail polish. My sister looked great, her husband looked great, the reception went well, nobody got excessively drunk, etc. They're on their honeymoon now - flew down to Puerto Rico on Sunday, then got on a boat for their Caribbean cruise. Good for them, I say.
The only thing is that on Saturday, I was completely exhausted by seven PM. For the wedding, we had to get up around 5:15 AM... there were people coming over to do my sister's hair, and that of my mother and the bridesmaids as well. I had tried going to bed early on Friday, but failed utterly in getting any kind of useful sleep, so the will to stay awake gave out around 7. Sadly, we had people visiting the house - cousins, friends of my parents, and the like - for a little bit of a wind-down party after the wedding reception. I kind of stumbled through the remainder of the evening and fell into bed around ten thirty, waking up several times before morning.
One of those times had the fourlegger dream just before it. Nothing urgent to carry, no particular mission, just a desire to see something that was going on in a park in the middle of town... but the ground was slanted a little uphill, and I wanted to get there quickly, and no one was looking. So I touched my fingertips to the ground, and off I went. I stopped when I got to the park, partly because I had reached my destination and partly because I didn't want people to look in my direction and think ill of me, but I was still thrilled that I was able to do it.
Beginning to wonder just a bit about that dream.
