Nov. 29th, 2023 01:52 pmDoing okay so far.
I haven't gotten official This Is What You Should Know About Your Lab Results from my doctor yet, but the medical butt stuff went smoothly enough that I don't need to go back for two years. So there's that. Pre-lab-result papers suggested high fiber diet but were vastly less alarming than the prior year. I'm okay with this. If the doctor calls me back and says 'there was something on page three that we missed and it's officially Dreadful Realignment Of Mental State Time' I'll let people know.
Thanksgiving went okay, too. I took the train to visit my folks. It was interesting getting there; things kept going wrong, but in ways that did not actually cause me problems. (Two people were assigned the same seat on the same leg of the Amtrak train. The seat was the one next to mine, not mine. The light rail in Newark had doors that wouldn't close. Another light rail train arrived well before I had to get to Broad Street and handled the transit. Etc.) Family is all right, my parents' part of NJ is nice, nobody got sick with anything beyond upset stomach, and I got to take my niblings ice skating, which I try to do every time I visit. So pretty much all is well there.
I am planning on making a lap quilt, nothing larger (well, POSSIBLY a throw but more likely just a lap quilt) for my sister for Christmas. I had to order the fabric on Etsy because every store within driving radius of my parents' place was sold out of Philadelphia Eagles print. I'm being good and avoiding anything with Patriots stuff on it but currently I am fighting the urge to buy a sew-in label for it that says something to the effect of THIS TOOK FOREVER - PLEASE PRETEND TO LIKE IT.
Maybe something on the back of a fabric care tag.
