Dec. 13th, 2021 07:59 amFinished the shorts I was cloning in the other day's post. No back pockets at the moment. I still have both the properly-buttonholed and the screwed-up pieces of fabric in case the recipient changes his mind.
I realized after I got through stitching the last one on that I had set a short stitch length and a medium stitch width to bartack the belt loops on... and then forgotten to switch my stitch from straight to zigzag. That would explain a few things about what I was seeing during the sew-on process but not how I failed to realize that I was using a straight stitch for ALL SEVEN BELT LOOPS on ALL FOURTEEN ENDS.
oh well. he doesn't wear belts with most of his pairs of shorts anyway. Here's hoping.
next project is going to be something stupidly simple, like the Alice pattern at Seamwork or something. Front piece. Back piece. Two sleeves. Neckband. THERE YOU GO.
