The graph takes a sharp turn for the oh dear at one point; the point has been labeled 'the day I realized I could cook myself bacon whenever I wanted'. I think the graph is titled Stove Ownership.
yesterday I suddenly realized that as long as I have some means of holding it in the right place during construction and fitting, so long as I can find appropriate fabric suppliers, I can make myself a damn earflap hat for wintertime whenever I want. And I don't have to spend a knitted hat's worth of time working on it any more, which is the main reason I don't have one at the moment.
(I'd previously run into trouble tracking one down that I liked; I'd had a decent one for a while, but it shed fur bits all over the place, and the cloth one that I'd bought was very warm but also sized for a skull just smaller enough than mine that the hat caused me headaches, despite being the largest one they offered.)
