Apr. 20th, 2021 08:23 amAfter tidying up a bit yesterday I realized why shirt #2 came out as bleah as it did: I had forgotten that I made a first attempt at drafting a pattern from my own measurements, one where I really had no clue what I was supposed to be doing with the neck and got the length wrong. I stopped before getting past the bodice, grabbed a T-shirt that fit me the way I liked, and worked through the process of copying its pieces.
The neckband and arm pieces I used to make the most recent T-shirt were cut using the Swedish tracing paper units I had created from the fitted shirt. The bodice pieces I used were from the attempt at my own measurements. The armhole measurements were significantly different (armscye, whatever, I'm not up on my terminology yet) and I'm not really sure the arm pieces would have ever been reasonable looking given my trouble figuring out how to go about drafting the paper pieces to the right size.
