Jul. 5th, 2019 08:29 amAdvantages to working from home for the day between a national holiday and the weekend: support requests are next to nil, the list of people who have taken the day off is enormous thereby making it easy for me to hop into their computers remotely and run Windows updates that require reboots, I can wear a thrift store sleeveless shirt and exercise shorts and my anti-plantar-fasciitis slippers and nobody cares, plenty of time to look up reviews and FAQs on the business edition of AxCrypt (which, despite the name, is not encryption software from the people who brought you Ax Cop), if the cat throws up I can clean up the mess before it has time to harden
Disadvantages to working from home: well, for one thing, if the cat throws up I hear it, which is not my idea of a good time; also if the cat so much as glances in my direction it's PET MEEEE PET MEEEEEEEE GIVE MEEEEEEEEEE TREEEEEEEEEEEEEATS, which does not really happen at the office; also I have heavier barbells at the office and today is a weight training day in my personal exercise scheme
... long story short, the server room at my company is a room rather than a mere closet and I have the okay from my superiors to use it for exercise space so long as I keep it neat and don't damage anything
