Jun. 10th, 2013 09:13 amBack when I was in college, the White Wolf: The Splattening rpgs were a big thing. I mostly played Werewolf and Mage, because I liked werewolves and some of the magic sects. Some of my friends played Vampire: The Masquerade, so I read up on those books even if I didn't play the game much. The vampires were divided into various sects- the Camarilla, which was your standard 'power games and trying to pass as human' sort, the Sabbat, which was your 'silly squishy human, why should we pass as you' sort, and so on; one group was called the Inconnu, for reasons I don't think were ever entirely revealed. Mostly they tended to watch from the shadows and monitor cities and things like that, and while there was something about them in one of the Gehenna scenarios, we never really got all the details on them.
Today I ran across the real-world inconnu.
I think if I ever get involved in oWoD stuff again I will content myself with imagining that all the vampires are actually meticulously disguised and carefully classified groupings of fish.
