Didn't quite make my Willpower rolls this weekend. I'm on Week 5, Day 2 of the hundred pushups workout. Which, in category 3 (the one I somehow placed myself into), means a workout of:

19 pushups
45 seconds' rest
19 pushups
45 seconds' rest
22 pushups
45 seconds' rest
22 pushups
45 seconds' rest
18 pushups
45 seconds' rest
18 pushups
45 seconds' rest
22 pushups
45 seconds' rest
As many pushups as you can physically do, but it has to be at least 45 to go on to the next day's workout

I did the 19, 19, 22, 22, 18, 18, 22 portion, but when I got to the last set my arms started whimpering and my brain, for once, agreed with them. So I stopped at 12. Still a respectable number in aggregate but I really need to work on it more to do this workout properly. I think I need to take my first few sets slower next time. That or get a real workout mat rather than a towel that moves around all the time, as both workouts where I've had to stop early have been at home on a towel instead of on a stable mat. Yes, I realize soldiers don't even get a towel when they have to do pushups as punishment for failing in some detail or other, but that's them. When I get anywhere close to military basic fitness, then we'll talk about doing these things barehanded on pavement.

In related news, tonight is a stair climb night instead of pushups. Basement to 45th floor, this time. The Climb to the Top is on February 27th, so if anyone wants to sponsor me and help raise money to fight multiple sclerosis while discovering places I didn't previously realize the human body had sweat glands, let me know and I'll post a link.

Okay, I did basement to 45th floor today, with no real hitches. Walked in circles a bit between 27 nd 28. No stops or pauses otherwise. I'm goodwith this. Push-ups tomorrow.

Also finished book. 2 of 52. From A Milking Stool To The White House by Harold Kneelander. Bought it because Mr. Kneelander spent several years of the 1950s as an MP and I thought it would make good reference material for fic about Roger Maxson. It.... kinda doesn't. It reads like the author just wanted to get a half fleshed out outline of his life down on paper and never really filled in the anecdotes and details properly. I suppose I knew I was in for a bumpy ride when I saw it was printed by Publish America, but I had my hopes. Oh well. Back to reading Survival City.
