I'm gonna cry. Apparently I can't even get sick on my own time.

I just had a look at my blackberry (which I hadn't checked for a few hours because I'd assumed that I was allowed to, you know, recover from being sick in peace) and found a bunch of 'oh hey, the server closet is totally too hot right now!' messages.

Nobody else on the server closet temperature mailing list is apparently capable of noticing this many messages and contacting the HVAC techs.

AUGH.

.... so anyway I'm gonna be awake for a while, until the techs get there.

Haven't heard from the techs. OTOH, temperature is below critical threshold and has been below for several minutes now.

Monitoring for five more minutes, and then I am imitating my cats and sleeping as sprawled out on the couch as I can.

ETA: 4:17 AM. Phone rings. HVAC technician.

Front desk won't let him in.

his company never gave him the access card and company key that we specifically gave them to let him in.
