They've found me.

The starlings are gone but urban wildlife has still found me. I just looked out on the fire escape to see what the weird 'kreeeh' noise was that I was hearing...

Squirrel.

Looking right at me through the window with this hugely expectant 'you have something in there for me, yes?' attitude.

Damn tree rats.

The skating in Liberty State Park is lovely. I took a spill and scraped quite a lot of my left thigh, but martial arts training had me rolling properly and coming up on my butt rather than leaving skin over the entire pavement, so that's all right then. I've found sacred space in that park and if it wants a little of my blood and skin in exchange for the right to use it, I'll pay that price.

Quite a lot of kites today. I need to go down there and bring one of mine next time I get the chance.

Going to go take a bath now and do something about that scraped thigh.
