Side note: for some reason I can mentally hear British accents for pretty well everyone in Ankh-Morpork, even the golems, but Detritus comes out sounding American. Possibly because it's really, really hard for me to mangle the English language the way he does and switch accents; I couldn't really 'hear' Hagrid's accent either until I heard Robbie Coltrane in the part.
