Open Challenge Week, Challenge 6: Weather

This was done at olna_jenn's suggestion, using one of the challenges available this week at multifandom1000, and I really should have been asleep about an hour ago. However, as I meant to get up and go to bed, I figured out what I had to do in order to finish it.

As I am still working on the Diary of a Mountie,

but am not yet ready to post the next segment (soon, though), I thought I should direct anyone interested in the good Sergeant to multifandom1000. This week is Open Challenge Week and I've already blitzed the poor community with several Sixth Age fics; the most recent challenge I went for, I felt, should be something a little more recognizable.

Naturally, I had to go and choose the alternate-history challenge- the Road Not Taken.
